Work completed at Utile Design
Role: Project Architect, Design Lead
The Laneway is a 24 unit multi-family project currently under construction in Mission Hill Boston. The design involved the reconfiguration of parcel boundaries on the site to allow for the building proposed and to redefine a 5’ wide through block public right of way as a linear park.
The ground floor amenity spaces as well as neighboring ground floor restaurants and retail will open to the Laneway, creating the kind of mews condition more typical in Europe or Japan.
The building incorporates custom brick and precast details in the facade and features compact units organized in a point loaded plan. It will be one of the first buildings constructed in Boston using the city’s Compact Living Pilot.
